“For me, life offers so many complexly appealing moments that two beautiful objects may be equally beautiful for different reasons and at different times. How can one choose?”
― Diane Ackerman, A Natural History of the Senses

This composition contains literal indications in relation to the quote. In life, people encounter scenarios in which a choice must be made. What do we do when those choices are equally as appealing? The two identical jars adjacent to each other represent this dilemma. The speckled black paper resembles a road that separates into two paths towards the objects. The muted white acrylic paint blocks the viewers sight to the internal contents of the objects. This directly correlates to the concept of the unknown, resulting in speculation of the object's ultimate purpose and intentions.

“It began in mystery, and it will end in mystery, but what a savage and beautiful country lies in between.”
― Diane Ackerman, A Natural History of the Senses

This composition uses clippings from a map, along with natural elements to add an earthly tone. The base structure closely resembles a board game, yet differs in the fact that it ends with no resolution. No matter where a person is in their journey of life, there is always an unknown factor of what is, or is not yet to come. The vintage-like flowers stress this notion, as one should not worry about the future or past, rather live in the current moment of time. The bright yellow suggests that one should enjoy what place they are in at the present.
